Turned from very hard, dense wood, fitted with Ash handles. Hardwood Mallets keep best in a plastic bag when not in use; humidity can be restored by wiping the head with a damp cloth. Under no circumstances should mallets be treated with linseed or any other oil; this will destroy the fibre structure of the wood and the mallet will start to disintegrate in use.
