Gold Size (Mixtion Ã? Dorer)Roberson Gold Size. An oil based glue, hence used in oil gilding or transfer leaf gilding. Available in four different drying times to suit individual requirements. The size must be allowed to dry for the stated time, before the gold leaf is applied; the glue should have lost practically all tackiness before gold is rubbed on. The drying time is crucial for good results. Apply with a sable or ox-hair brush. Gold Size is also used for the application of Substitute Gold Leaf (Schlag Metal).
